I chose the word headphone for my project because I thought it would be an easy word to work with. After picking out the word, I continued on to drawing the headphones and writing the word. After, to give more to it, I added the pinkish red color with a pastel and colored the headphones. The drawing on top of the worded-background is my favorite part.
In this project, we drew different positions of a paper bag, and painted it with actual coffee. Getting the bags to look have a 3D effect, along with painting different shades with the coffee. For lighter shades, you would water down the coffee, and for a darker color, you'd use the more strong coffee. If I could, I would change the fact that we used coffee, and maybe shaded with charcoal or something else instead.
Out of all honesty, creating this project was more time consuming and harder than any other project I have ever done before. Where the drape was pinned to the wall, it creates the rest of the drape to lead back to those points at the top. Also, the light gives each position of the drape different shades. The further back, the darker it is. It gives the drape a 3D look, and it was pretty difficult.
For this project, we used different kinds of charcoal. I ended up find it fun to experiment and use. For this assignment we had to pick four object to draw that resemble us. A chose some lip gloss, the skirt to my uniform, my cellphone, and the spartan head. I chose to draw the lip gloss to specifically represent my personality, and how a little on the girly side. Next, I chose my cellphone because I feel almost inseparable from it, as bad as that sounds. It feels like it's a part of me. I picked to draw the skirt to my Pom Pon uniform because poms has became something I'm most passionate about over the past few years, and it's definitely a big part of my life. Last of all, I chose to draw the spartan head. I chose it to not only resemble the present me, but to portray the future me as well, as I plan on going to Michigan State University after high school.
On a different note, I chose to work with pencil shading a lot throughout this project. Although I think my shading turned out alright for the most part, I also believe the shading on the skirt could be improved, especially in the crease of the skirt's pleat. |
