For our toned drawing we were suppose to chose an object and draw it from perspective. Then, using the dark charcoal, we were suppose to shade in the the shaded areas on the object, and shade in the white charcoal on the spots where the light shines directly onto it. The darker colored paper we were given to draw on was suppose to be the mutual color on the object where it doesn't have light shining off of it, or a shadow. I improved my shading skills on this project, as well as drawing from a perspective. If I were to change this project, I would probably try drawing the track show from a different perspective. I did however liked drawing the object I drew.
For this project we were instructed to take three pieces of candy and draw them as they look while laying down on the table. The shapes make it sort of difficult to draw it from the perspective from where we were looking at it, especially the circular mints. I didn't really enjoy this project as I did with other ones. Set aside from that, I believe my project turned out successful.
For our last project of the school year, we got the opportunity to design a ceiling tile. What we did was get a large piece of paper that's big enough to cover the ceiling tile. Once completely, they are to be attached overtop of the tile.
Me and my partner, Jenna, decided to draw an alien. First off, we drew in pencil the outline of the alien then began to draw the colorful and bright pink, orange, and yellow lines across the paper. Next, after each stripe was completed, we started painting the green skin of the alien, then continued on to paint the eyes black. Lastly, we took a granite grey around him as an outline to make him really pop, being in front of the bright colors. The most challenging part was probably painting the stripes because it felt endless and boring. Other than that, I found this project a great assignment to finish the year off on! For this assignment we were assigned to find a picture of a famous person of our choice and draw them. I decided to draw the famous singer/rapper Drake. I have always struggled with drawing humans, and the facial area in particular. With this said, this whole project was a struggle. One of the largest problems/struggles that interfered with my drawing was having both sides of the face be as equal as possible. Set aside from that, I found the shading part the most fun to do. As I was putting on my last touches, pulling the project together as a whole, I realized my drawing of Drake looked more like president Obama. Overall, this was an interesting yet challenging assignment to complete, and took the extra effort.
In this project, we were able to chose any one logo. You draw the same logo multiple times the same way, and after give each of the logos a different border\background. The point of this project was to show that different backgrounds or borders to something gives a different feeling towards the logo it surrounds.
I found the hardest part of this assignment was coming up with that many of different backgrounds to paint. Also I found drawing each of the logos identical extremely difficult. As seen, couldn't exactly do that. If I were to redo this entire piece, I would have spent more time on making them more similar. Other than that, I like how this piece turned out and found it fun creating. For this art project, we picked a letter of our choice and basically had to recreate or reincarnate it. I found the hardest part of this whole project was just getting ideas on what to do and just getting started. I decided to do the letter "J" because that's what the first letter of my first name. Along with that, the letter didn't seem like it would be that difficult to work with. I also decided to transform it into an elephant trunk because elephants are my favorite animal, so I guess it worked out pretty well. After I started sketching out what I was going to draw, it was pretty easy. If I were to change one thing, I would probably make the background a little more exciting. Overall, I enjoyed this assignment.
Working with clay is always one of the most fun yet difficult to work with. Decided to make a bird feeder, thinking I would keep it somewhat simple. However, it was a lot more harder than I would have ever thought. Keeping all the sides together and straight up was probably what made it the most difficult, due to the clay being somewhat flimsy and wet still. After flattening out the clay out and cutting it into rectangular slabs. From there, I joined the slabs to create sides of the soon-to-be bird feeder using slit, forming them together. I then left it to dry together some. After, I took a sharp tool and carved designs on the top of the feeder. This project enhanced my knowledge on how to work with clay, and how to use slabs joined together to form an object.
Again this was another time consuming project. First I had to figure out the object I wanted to create, cut cardboard out evenly, tape it positioned correctly to give it the 3D effect, the painted it. The hardest part was the cutting of the cardboard, and making the measurements of how long each piece correspond with it's opposite on the other side of the music note. Overall I think it turned out alright in the end.
I chose to create a music note because I'm almost always listening to music. In the car, when I sleep, in school, at practice, while showering, or just around the house. Music is also a big part of my all time favorite hobby, poms. Personally, I had the least amount of fun creating this piece. It was rather easy. The hardest part would have to be drawing the three people's bodies because I've never been all that good at doing so. All and all, I would say that this project as a whole turned out alright, but a little boring.
We had to find three human figures out of a magazine of different sizes, and draw them out making them look like their in some type of scene together, looking normal. Drawing a three dimensional hand was one of the hardest things I've drawn before. The thing that really got me was creating the fingers, and making them proportional to the hand, along with showing all the finger's joints.
Although it was quite challenging, I did have fun with this project. Shading came easy to me with this piece as well. |
