Semester 1
Prior to Art 3, I took Art 1 and 2. Art 1 was really basic, and Art 2 started getting a little challenging. In Art 3, so far we've been opened up to different types of art and different techniques and methods. So far this year I've done an abstract line project, drew a realistic looking rope, did an identity project, and used the monochromatic technique to draw an object of my choice.
The abstract line drawing was the first project we did. It was something easy and simple to start off the year, but made you use your brain a little extra to think of what to draw. The rope drawing was most definitely the most challenging to complete. This project was specifically hard and difficult to do due to there being so many lines of rope in one given area. The shading was also hard, as well as giving the rope texture. It did teach me to draw something of a different shape, with texture, and piled up. In the identity project where I drew a tree, I only used a pencil. I worked hard and got a lot more practice working with shading. Lastly, my favorite project was the monochromatic painting. It was enjoyable working with the different tints, deciding on where to out each. It gave me a better experience working with different shades of colors, teaching me how to use them better. I don’t think I would change much about this project besides possibly using a little more lighter tints. I think this was one of my better paintings.
I've improved on everything we've worked on over all. Over the course of this semester, I have learned a lot more on different types of art, getting much more experience. I'm looking forwards to broadening my art experiences, excelling in all my future projects.

Semester 2
This semester, I worked on a number of larger, more time-consuming projects. That consists of competing in an Above The Influence contest, designing Vans shoes, creating a clay monster, and designing a t-shirt.
For the Above The Influence contest, my group and I had to decorate a canvas how we chose, incorporating the symbol. We gave it a semi-colorful background then drew the symbol over it. Inside the symbol we put lots of different designs and included brighter colors in that region.
The longest project to complete would be the Vans. Throughout a period of numerous weeks, I finally completed them. They originally were suppose to be made for a "Vans Custom Culture" contest, but weren't done in time because it took a long time to complete them. However, it definitely was my favorite project.
We also worked with some clay this semester. We were told to create a monster, so I decided to mix a snake with a grandpa and it turned out pretty nice, and kind of cute too. His name is now "Henry." It was particularly trying to keep all of his feet on long enough to dry onto the snake body.
Last but not least, the last project we worked on was a t-shirt. We started with just a plain white shirt. We made stencils and then used them to spray paint the design onto the shirt. I also added some glitter, and glow in the dark paint on the designs. I pick this specific design because it's the logo to one of my favorite bands, The Neighbourhood. After, I added fringe to the bottom of the shirt and cut off the sleeves. I really liked the outcome, and thought it was a ton of fun making it!
This semester I worked with a variety of new things, as I advanced in my art skills. Can't wait for what Art 4 has to bring!
